Christmas up til now

We had a great Christmas! We just stayed in Grace and had fun with the Hubbard Family. My family came over a few days later to spend some time together. Winter is kind of hard because the weather doesn't always allow for traveling back and forth.

Brynlee was thoroughly spoiled of course...did anyone expect any different?!? She got some cute clothes, tons of toys, and two very pretty dresses from church. The above picture is the toy farm that Brynlee got from Grandma and Grandpa Hubbard. She loves it and plays with it all the time!

Brynlee also loves to ride the rocking horse at Grandma H's. She has now figured out how to turn the music on all by herself.
Brynlee in her cute outfit from Uncle Rollie and Aunt Julie. She also got a zhu zhu pet skunk from her cousins ally and bailey.

This was just a fun picture from around Christmas time.

This is the Christmas stocking that I made for Brynlee. It took me about a month. Good thing I started early!

Shane and I took the snowmobile up in the mountains and cut our first real Christmas tree for our little family. I think it turned out pretty good!

This is the toy that Shane and I got Bryn for Christmas. It is a piano that plays songs, teaches colors, animals, shapes, etc. It also connects to your tv like a baby video game. She loves to hear the colors and play with the animals, but she hasn't spent a lot of time with it on the tv yet.

Brynlee got this drum from her Aunt Christi. She also got "The Night Before Christmas" book from Christi. Her aunt Gillaire gave her a coloring book and some story books. Brynlee loves books!

Brynlee has always been a good eater. She usually loves pastas, veggies, fruits, yogurt. All kinds of stuff. But lately her favorite food has become Nilla Wafers. Some days she only wants nilla wafers. I of course try to get her to eat something healthy first, but some days it can be interesting. Today, in my attempt to keep her from actually turning into a nilla wafer, have tried spaghetti, brocolli, yogurt, and peaches...all a no go! Here's hoping that she likes her dinner!

Happy Birthday Brynlee

I know her birthday isn't technically until tomorrow...but I was trying to get a head start on blogging.

I can't believe that she is already 1 year old. I remember this time last year as if it were yesterday. At this very moment a year ago....I was scared to death because I had no idea what to expect or what the experience would be like.

This little girl is a very special part of our family and we wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. Every time I start to get frustrated...I remember how lucky we are to have a happy, healthy little girl to hold and love. I am reminded of this all the time when I hear stories of other people's trials/difficulties.

Happy Birthday Bryn! We love you!

Happy Halloween 2010

A lot has happened since my last post. Brynlee is growing up so fast. She has started walking as long as she can push or hold onto something. She has taken a step or two on her own..but needs to gain some balance and a little more confidence.

I am substitute teaching now...mostly in Soda Springs. I really enjoy it. The variety of students makes it fun because you get to meet a lot of new people.

Shane still works at Agrium as an electrician/instrument tech. He is also a great daddy. Bryn sure does love her daddy!! It is so cute to see how excited she gets when he comes home.

Brynlee got to go Trick or Treating for the first time this year. She was a cute little butterfly. Her cousin Hannah came up and they went together. I don't know that she cared too much about the outfit or the trick or treating for that matter...but Mom loved it!! Plus she got a couple of suckers which are her favorite.

Brynlee's first birthday and Christmas are fast approaching. Where did the time go???? My baby can't possibly be turning 1 in a month!!

Update/Texas/and everything else!

Well....where to start....

I finally figured out the blog background thing....not exactly the background I wanted....but at least it doesn't look like a five year old did it.

Rollie and Julie got married in June so mom and I went to San Antonio for the wedding. It was a lot of fun!! The trip got off to a rocky start...we get to the airport and Gillaire is meeting us there to help me get luggage and mom into the airport and to keep the car while we are gone...fast forward 5...I repeat 5 minutes....Gillaire walks out and the car is getting towed!!!! Not the best way to start off a trip...but hey...we are the Gleed family and if anything weird can happen....we'll find a way to make it happen.

We got to Texas and the heat was crazy!!!! I'll take below zero and snow compared to 100+ humidity any day! But it was cool to see such a big city. It was so great to get to see Rollie, Julie, Bailey, Ally, and meet Julie's family and friends. It is even better to get to call Julie and her girls my family now...I officially have an wonderful new sister in law and two very cute nieces! The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Everything looked great with the exception of my lovely black nylons because somebody(who shall remain nameless because we all know who he is) forgot to tell me to wear tan/no nylons with silver shoes! Other than that it looked awesome!! I just felt bad because Julie did all this work to make things look perfect and here I am standing out like a sore thumb! Julie did an amazing job making bouquets and candles! And I must say...my brother looked pretty handsome in a tux!

Rollie was even brave enough to lend us his truck while he and Julie were on their honeymoon. Yep..you read right...my brother lent me his truck to drive in downtown San Antonio all by myself!!! Kinda scary isn't it! But I did great and the truck is in one piece...as long as you listen to the GPS life is good!

Rollie, Julie, and the girls came to Idaho for the 4th and their second reception. Julie and the girls finally got to meet Brynlee! It was kinda cute...Brynlee slept through her first 4th of July parade! We also had a BBQ at my house and light fireworks the next day. Terry, Gladys, and Scotty also came from Nevada! I will post a pic of Uncle Rollie with Brynlee. She was playing with his hat. She seems to think that he is pretty cool!

Brynlee will be 8 months old on the 1st of August! I don't know what happened but it seems like she is growing up way too fast!!! She finished up with her therapy a while ago..no helmet!!! She is now a crawling machine and loves her walker. She can go all over the house 100 miles an hour....which basically means that she's into everything! It is so fun to watch her learn new things. Her new favorite word is mumumuma. She is also learning how to wave bye bye. Brynlee is also getting her first tooth!

Well there have been some new things going on in our household lately.

I still can't figure out this blog background thing so....sorry if it looks a little nuts!

Brynlee has Torticollis/Plagiocephaly. Simply explained Torticollis occurs when the muscles in one side of the neck are too short. It causes the child to be unable to turn/rotate their head in that direction. More often than not...it causes Plagiocephaly which is a flat spot on the back of their head. See pic above.

We wondered if she was developing a flat spot so I asked her pediatrician at her 4 month appointment about it. He is an older guy a.k.a. "old school". He said she did have a flat spot but that it would correct itself on its own. Fast forward a couple of weeks...Brynlee gets the flu and I haul her into the doctor to see if he can help her. The regular doctor was not there so she saw another pediatrician that worked in the clinic. Thank goodness! This doctor was much more into modern medicine and intervention and told us that she had torticollis/plagiocephaly and that she needed physical therapy and SOON....When an infant has this condition...you only have until 6 months to begin therapy or it becomes very difficult to treat without a helmet.

So needless to say I was slightly upset (okay I'm being nice here) with her regular pediatrician..I had asked him that exact question at her last check up!!!! This left us with only 5 weeks to start treatment!!!

She had her first therapy session yesterday. All went well. Luckily she doesn't have a severe case so most likely no helmet!!!!! Yeah!!! All we have to do is be very diligent about doing her neck stretches and head turns to help her neck muscle and lay her on her left side to correct the flat spot. Hopefully it continues to go well and should only take a few months.

The Latest

Not too much has been going on, but I thought I would post a small update with a ton of pictures.

Rollie and Julie are getting married in June and I just bought my plane tickets. Texas here I come!!

Brynlee has been growing and changing every day. Where did my baby go?? Part of me is happy to see her grow up and the things that she will do...but a part of me is very sad to see my little baby change.

She has recently discovered that she has a voice and now loves to talk. You can't understand a word of it...but she sure loves it when you pretend that you do. She is starting to roll over from her tummy to her back but not the other way around. Brynlee was also starting to outgrow her bassinet so she now sleeps in her "big girl crib"...I thought the first night was going to be rough but she loved it!

I am also learning to make hair bows. They are so fun and cute.
